The new look of this site rocks! I like the new bio, the postcard motif, and the extended contacts, but where will there be photos like mine? I got back from the Apple safely, so I wish you the same on your Southern tour next week.
Love, Greg
hi....just a fan here. i've yet to get the new album, but i have your live one....saw you open for blue mountain in chattanooga which now seems like ages ago. hope you come back through chattanooga soon, i'd be sure to make it. i promise to get the new album soon. cheers...
jake
dayna,
just wanted to tell you that your new album is AMAZING. is it unkind to say i like it so much better than the live one? (i am a from-way-back footprints fan, so i guess i can say that :) this album has _weight_, and _soul_, and it is carrying me through this winter.
come back and play at the kendall cafe again; your last show there was so good.
~Addie
i'm a local singer-songwriter who follows the careers of, and collects the work of other Philadelphia-area chyk singer-songwriters. Jen Hess, Mia Johnson, Dayna Kurts, Susan Bush, Doria Roberts (now based in Atlanta), Robin Renee...Nicola Visaggio, the list goes on and on. i saw Dayna years ago at Doc Watsons, i was wearing black leather and taking notes, and i think she (and her opener Shawna J.) both thought i was a journalist or a critic, which i am, but that night i was really just being a geek! anyway, so Jen Hess's new album "Remains" just came out and she lists Dayna Kurtz in the acknowlegements. that got me to miss Dayna's music. that and the fact that i've been covering her song "Wonderful" in local bars...but i'm between places right now and my stuff is in storage, so i went to Giovanni's Room (where i used to be the women's music buyer, and incidentally i'm the one who ordered her CDs for the store!) and bought myself another copy. i'm really enjoying it. and it was an added treat that i'd only brought two CDs to work (i'm a nanny now) with me, Dayna's and Jen's, and Dayna thanks Jen in HER CD, too! Too much! anyway. Dayna, you rock. so glad you've got a new CD out. can't wait to hear it and tell everyone i know about it. hope you're well, and maybe i'll see your next show at the Tin Angel.
pEaCe,
Cassendre Xavier
Dayna, I just wanted to let you know that your performance with Richie Havens in Asheville was amazing. I had never heard of you until that night, and then only as soon as you were anounced on stage. From the moment you walked out, i knew you possessed a powerful energy. and with every song, that energy radiated. i was so moved. i bought your CD, and i must say that every song is absolutely fantastic. it has been played in my player for days. thank you for giving out so much in your music. i hope there is the opportunity to see you again. until then, many blessings and peace! - Day (that long haired freak who you followed up Hwy 19 - i hope you had a great stay in asheville. ) P.S> say hi to the boys for me.
My God the new CD is beautiful!!! Everyone who worked on it did an incredible job. The music very original and creative and the songs are great, great, great. I couldn't hold my voice back. I just had to say it's awesome!!! Thank you!!!
Dayna, what comes to mind --Ella Fitzergerald, Bob Dylan, Helen Baylor, Mix with Dayna Kurtz know how makes a spluendus singer/songwriter metaphizo sound. The"jazz" mixed with folk music gives your music a sound that no other can duplacate. It is fresh and a new sound people catch on to.
Russ&Claire Dempsey
We like the CD a lot! ...play it often on our show, "Free For All" Fridays 10AM - 12PM, on WNTI-FM (91.9), free form radio voice of Centenary College, NJ. We hope you'll mail a copy of the CD to the station, for other DJs to play.

Dayna, Been a while since I caught you in Phila. We go back to "Footprints" at the Florabama about 6 years ago, as well as being a friend of Jack Williams. Great to see the new CD is out. You got some airplay on XPN (88.5-Phila) a few weeks ago. I just emailed info on your tour in Pittsburgh to my brother and another friend. Come back to Phila soon...we love you. It would be great to see you and Jack on the same bill. Thom
Hi. Why aren't you REALLY REALLY famous? What's the matter with the world?
Hi my name is Dayna Langlois!!
I just wanted to see this site and its really awesome and unique!!
Hey Dayna! I'm a singer/songwriter/wooden nickel philosopher down here in liddle ole Austin!I saw you play at the Florabama in 1995ish??? I heard your record for the first time yesterday and it killed me!!!!!!!!!!! Like I told my Austin picker pals[you probably know a few],You are TRULY ONE OF THE GREAT TALENTS THAT SHOULD BE MUCH,MUCH BETTER KNOWN!!!!!!!!!!! Web site ROCKS! KEEP ON PERSERVERING!!! Lucinda was playing for almost nothing when I moved to Austin in 1987. Best Of Luck & God Bless! C.U.
Beautiful, uplifting, well-crafted stuff! Thank you. Keep those cards and letters coming in.
Aaron Brown Brooklyn, NY
Dayna's music is nothing short of magical. She is able to blend husky vocals and minor chords, and rhythmic guitar with tell-tale lyrics to create a sound that's perfect for anything from dylan to ellington. She is a lyrical inspiration to any aspiring writer or poet; bitterly beautiful. Her music will touch your soul.
Dayna, I listened to your interview with David Dye this morning on World Cafe. You sounded GREAT and what a nice comparison to Tom Waits! I would also add Jeff Buckley to the list of influences. Anyway, I absolutely adore your new album. I listen to your music everyday and never tire of it. I hope to see you soon in the Baton Rouge/New Orleans area.
Dionne
Dayna: I have just finished listening to you on the World Cafe and all I can say is, WOW! I am positive that words could not do justice for what it is you do. You have simply left me liquescent! I hope you continue to pursue your music as you have, for the world knows not what is coming musically until the day they hear you. Thanks for inspiring me. I am a young 36 years old (ha ha ha), and also am a singer/songwriter. I must confess that I struggle with my passion as I was not supported in my dream during my youth. I continue every day to try and clear my soul of the negative messages I received as I must one day perform or I sware I will come back to this place again. Thanks again for a lovely afternoon at the cafe over my noon tea! I'll be looking for you on the road.
Love, Donna
PS: I don't think David could breathe after listening to your voice, just a little note from one woman to another. You definitely got to him, isn't it nice being a woman and having an incredible voice, he he he he!!!!

I have a CD store in downtown Decatur, GA. Just around the corner from Eddies Attic where Dayna is schedueld to appear in April. I have had several requests for the Postcards from Downtown CD and would be interested in stocking them. Please contact me via phone at 404-373-0524 or via e-mail mike@discover-music.com We also maintain a schedule of in-store appearances and would be interested in hosting an in-store performance by Dayna.
Lets us know. Thank You. Mike
I heard you on World Cafe as I was driving from errand to errand, and I was totally blown away. I had to pull off of the road. That's only happened to me one or two other times in my 35 years of driving. I look forward to getting your ceedee soon. And I hope you make it to Denver soon.

Just a note to you and your fellow musicians to let you know I heard you on World Cafe a few nights ago and I was blown away by your performance. Thought you'd be interested to know that your promotional efforts are paying off. A few days after the show, I found your site and ordered a copy of your new CD, which I can't wait to get.
Keep up the great work and please keep on making your music....
Best wishes -- Roger D.
I heard Dayna last week on World Cafe and I was completely blown out of the water. I've been struggling with a bunch of emotional b.s., and hearing her stuff was literally synchronistic. Talk about "conjuring".
Will get the cd. Will follow this career.
Thanks for the balls-out honesty.
hello dayna, i am a huge fan of your music. i bought the luscious life cd years ago at eddie's attic. i have worn it out. i am a painter, and i listen to it when i work. your songs have carried me along many canvases. thank you. i feel like i have lived a small life in your words. sincerely, emily boyd chattanooga, tn
Hey Dayna --
Saw you last night with Richie Havens in Harrisonburg VA. If I had heard your stuff before, I'd have gone to see you at Iota in Arlington VA last week, since I live in the DC area. Liked your set so much that I bought copies of both your CD's, and will commence to spreading the good word amongst my circle of friends at once. Drove two hours just to see Richie, and found myself blown away by you as well. Thanks SO MUCH. After looking at your schedule, I'm double-sad, because I missed you opening for Freedy Johnston, who also blows me away. You should get in touch with Rachel Cross (http://www.rachelcross.com). Trust me.
-Saint Bob, the great connector

I've heard a song from the soon to be released album which has lyrics to the effect "make a mess out of me" or something close to that. This song blows me away! Every once in a blue moon I'll hear something that just jumps out and is fresh, new, original etc. etc. I can't wait to get the CD.
corny
heard the tune on XPN. luv it can't wait to see and hear Dayna at the point on the 16th !!
Hi Dayna!
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your performance at Joe's Pub last night; you can really belt out a tune, lady! You did a fantastic job and had a wonderful stage presence.
I hope to see you & Jeff sometime soon. I hope that you sell a ton of records.
Take care,
Hyla
Heard you on Idiot's delight & thoroughly loved the whole performance and appearance I also just ordered the CD. Keep making great music & much suuccess with the release of the CD
Steve J
Love Gets In The Way is the most beautiful song I've heard in decades!!!! I have just listened to it 9 times in a row and I think I cried on each listen. The emotion in your voice has reached down into the depths of my soul and is dragging my own emotions out, kicking and screaming. I am a songwriter myself and have been looking for this song all my life. I guess I can stop writing now.
I had the wonderful oppurtunity to see Dayna Kurtz for the first time last night in Huntington WV.(Mt.Stage)......I've never herad such an incredible voice.....I am an instant fan.
Dayna -- Thanks so much for coming to Huntington for the Mountain Stage performance. Listening to "Otherwise Luscious Life" right now -- hope to catch another show some time. Leslie
heard the show with vin ... really wonderful. and then i read your website bio and wondered, what the *#& was i doing when you were running cars into the ground between paterson and northampton, or wherever (hartford doesn't seem to attract much attention) ... i'm making my co-workers listen to the mp3 version of postcards and sending the link to my friends. just have to save up a little and order your albums. so glad to have made your acquaintance. john (don't fear the e-mail address; it refers to the colt building, where i lieve, and 4x5 film, which i shoot. apparently some people fear i sell (or worship) malt liquor or handguns.)
Saw you Saturday Night at Towne Crier, and thought you were terrific. Now that you are focused on your taxes, if you have any questions, I would be glad to help you. I am a NYC entertainment business manager who appreciated your "tax story".
I love your new song "Love gets in the way" it is so sensual and dramatic. Can't wait to hear more of you! -Jill Czahor
love the music dayna, i was introduced to it by my girlfriend who lives in philly, any chance of you touring the uk?
Hello - I cant' comment on the new CD (I haven't heard it yet, they tell me that it will be here by Saturday)but I wanted to say that the live performance that Dayna did in the studio at WFUV was fantastic. Too bad I didn't hear it until mid March! Hear the archive of the February 23, 2002 broadcast of Vin Scelsa's Idiot's Delight at: http://www.wfuv.org Mary St. Paul, MN
Hello! I just heard an interview on BBCRadio with Richie Havens and he mentioned you, so I decided to look up your website. Good luck with your new album!
I've never been moved to write to an artist before, but I received the two CDs I ordered from the website yesterday. I don't know what to say other than I haven't had such a reaction to someone's music in a long time. I was brought to tears immediately, and haven't stopped listening yet. I heard you on Vin Scelsa's show, heard you say you were playing at the Mercury Lounge, and thankfully bought tickets for my son and myself. I'm so very glad I did. Your lyrics are surpassed only by your beautiful musical expression. Thank you so much. I'm so looking forward to seeing you. Marie DiPrimo
Hi Dayna, We really enjoyed the house concert today with Walter Parks (Sunday, March 24th). The new stuff sounds great, and I'm glad several of the old songs are on the new CD. Thanks for playing 'Patterson' today! Good luck with the single and album! Brenda
Dayna, It has been many years and far too many shows since I have heard your voice. I need to have one of your 's in my collection. I wish you the very best and hope that you and I will at some juncture have the opportunity to sing together. W.T. greer...Bitter End nine years ago!
I first heard dayna's music today on wfuv in n.y., my favorate radio station. If it were'nt for them you would never hear music like Dayna's. Anyway, I was blown away!! She has a beautiful voice and has a wonderful touch on her Gibsons. Ilook forward to getting her cd and other works and am sure I will enjoy them very much. Thank You, Albert Facendo
Hi Dayna, Im an avid fuv listener and I had not heard of you until your interview on that station tues. 4/2/02. Your performance was wonderful and i asked my local music shop to order your new cd for me. I should have it in a few days. Beyond the music i really liked some of what you had to say. Your core philosophy seems to be very agreeable. If I did'ent have to get up at 4am thursday morning I would certainly head into town to hear you perform. Hope you perform locally again real soon. Hey, theres a small theatre in my town,Inter Media Arts Center (huntington L.I. home of Walt Whitman and Harry Chapin) seats about 250. Why dont you get a gig there? Glad I was tuned in when you were on. All the Best Michael
I was at your show at Joe's Pub. I was going to come to Mercury Longe last night but called and found out Richie Heavens was not appearing. What the hell?
hi, Dayne...I came to your music through my friendship with George Hollier down here in Louisiana. Looking forward to your concert at his house in May. Manny Fuentes, Lafayette, LA

I Absolutley adore "Love gets in the way" It's one of the most honest songs I've ever heard!!! :-)
I Absolutley adore "Love gets in the way" It's one of the most honest songs I've ever heard!!! :-)
Dayna, I just purchased your CD. I haven't even listened to the whole thing yet, and I will probably respond later when I do, but I just wanted to tell you that I have new theme song for this new achingly beautiful, frighteningly real, wonderfully tragic period of my life I find myself in, and that's "Love Gets In the Way." I just wanted to thank you for writing a beautiful song that says it all for me right now better than I ever could have, especially since I may never get the chance! But at least I have some words and tones to say what I couldn't, and to do it with such style and class...thank you thank you more than you could ever know! -Mark Brown
"Love Gets in the Way" dropped me to the floor, what a song. There's so much strength in your music! -e
wonderful site. you are a great talent. may your many gifts bring you great success.peace. http://www.bardic.on.ca/ancient
Saw the show at the Tin Angel last night. Unbelievable. Only ever cried for joy at one other show - Jonny Lang. Every moment spent listening to Dayna is a gift. Met Dayna after the show, and she's got a wonderful personality, too... I want to know who the male musician referred to in "Somebody leave a light on" is... I'll be telling everyone I know and wearing out the CD (available on CDNow and at Borders, even though Dayna strongly supports the smaller vendors too). I've found a new favorite.
Damn, just moved from Perdido Key Fl to Philly, and missed you both times. Love the new album, and where have I been all these years missing you at the FloraBama (www.florabama.com)? Next time there (4/23) ask for my buds, Guthrie Trapp and the boys "Filthy Rich" (www.thefilthyrich.com). You two would compliment each other well! Hope to catch you next time in Philly, JA
hello Dayna someone at The Tin Angel show told me "Somebody leave The Light On" is about Kurt Cobain. Is this true and have you heard from Courtney Love? Very cool song.
Heard your song on XPN.org. Hope to see you this Sunday at The Evening Muse in Charlotte
to tedcorriero@aol.com - nope, it's not about kurt cobain...the first stanza refers to jeff buckley's death, though. i'm out here on the road - very psyched y'all are hearing me on the radio. thanks for coming to the shows/writing/etc. i'll check back in in a little while. i have vague plans to have a q and a page/ and a journals from the road page on the site, but life just keeps me from following thru on these things for the moment. be careful out there - dayna k.
Hello Dayna, Just recently saw your brief set at the Tosco Music Party in Charlotte. Loved what I heard, and following your request, phoned WNCW (NPR) to request that your disc be played. Seems I have been joined by others since Saturday evening, as I heard it played twice today while driving about. Hoping to catch your set at the Evening Muse, if that hasn't already happened! (Gotta go check your calendar!) Keep up the good work...you sounded wonderful Saturday night, and I loved your songwriting. Best Regards, Pete Davis
I played Postcards from Downtown during my Community Ed pottery class. (We are encouraged to bring music to share.) My classmates compared Dayna to . . . Nico, Roy Orbinson, Bob Dylan, and Nina Simone. I am not sure if this was a good or bad thing but the majority of them liked the CD. Mary in St. Paul, MN.
I sampled "Postcards" the other day at the Disc Exchange here in Knoxville, Tenn., and bought it on the spot. It's got "umph." Come play here sometime, please. -- Randall Brown
Hi everyone, I first heard D. K. at a funky little club in North Hampton Massachusetts in 1995, or 96. She was blowing me off my stool evey time she opened her mouth. And evey time I play her Footprints cassette that I bought that nihgt It blows me away again and again. In 1997 I moved to the California S.F. Bay area and have been having the darndest time finding D.K. music. I have searched for a CD of Footprints. Cannot find one. Nor can I find another cassette. I even took my tape to a local record/book store and played it for them and asked them to keep an ear open for any new D.K. tunes. No luck . I was just afraid wareing it out. That would be a shame. Low and behold I was surfing and saw that there is a new CD out called Postcards from Downtown. Where and when can I get it. Needless to say I love this artist's music. Make more please! P.
Dayna, Your vocals are a smoky, magic kiss. There are a whole bunch of people in Huntington, WV who would love to see you in May on your way to your Pittsburgh show. Any chance of adding a date in/around western West Virginia then? All the best, Lachlan
to :pjjsla@cs.com - footprints is, well, out of print...may rescue some tracks someday and put it on disc. the new cd can be bought here at the site, also in s.f. it's at amoeba. or online at amazon.com. to Lachlan: "smoky magic kiss" is about the nicest compliment i've ever heard. thank you. i just got a new agent, and i told her specifically to work on your neck of the woods, as everyone was so damn nice there. poetic too. best, dayna
Hey Dayna, Got the CD through the website and LOVE it! It been in the CD player in my car since I got it. Some songs got me from the get-go and others took awhile for me to get into to, but those are kinds of CDs that I really love. I just got your tour schedule, and I didn't see any Houst ton dates. I thought there was a tentative date at the Last Concert Cafe? ANYWAY, I hope you get through Houston soon so I can see you in person. Best of Luck, Jeff
To Dayna, Thank-you. Your music stirs my soul. I hope to see you in concert! Sincerely, Lisa Palombi
Hey Dayna! Got your new CD and I absolutely love it. Your melodies are incredible, your words are tragically sad and beautiful, and I really get a sense of you without even knowing you...the mark of a great artist in my opinion. I've been looking for something new that resonates and you've provided that. Thank you. Larry P.S. I'm in the New Brunswick area of Jersey and will be checking your schedule for dates round here in the coming months. Can't wait for a live performance. Take care.
Hey, Dayna: Just tuned into Mountain Stage driving to my local coffee shop and heard you singing. About drove my minivan off the road (yeah, a minivan. It's tan, too. Pity me.) Don't know what song you were singing, but I don't care. I plan to buy your CD today. Hey, if you're ever in the Midwest, please, please, please consider playing in Iowa City, or thereabouts. Despite being in Iowa it's actually a pretty cool place, and I know you'd draw a huge crowd. I'll be the guy up front with a rose in my teeth. Sending lots of love and good fortune your way. Steve
Dayna, Your sound found my ears via Vin Scelsa @ WFUV. Stunned and amazed and singing along I am. Was that Richie Havens singing also on "Somebody Leave a Light ON" or am I senile too. Thanks for something new and wonderful. Will you come back to Eddie's Attic in Georgia anytime soon? peace, Deborah
Well Miz Dana, I've had the experience, along with other music aficionados, of not leaving their cars until the song is over and have to wait until the DJ announces whom the artist was on the radio before they get out....oh yes, you gave me that one... But did you know that you stopped an incoming e-mail in it's tracks?!! I'd say that's pretty darn good! I attach a quote: " i (blah, blah) then came home...WNCW. oh lordy. they are about to play dayna kurtz. back to you when i can find my knees. (time lapse) goddess...what a voice. i tell you something, kay. me and some woman are going to cuddle up on that song some day..." Just thought I'd let you know we like your music.
Oh, I just think Dayna is the most wonderful songstress. She makes me cry every time I hear her voice, it's so strong and weak at the same time, which makes her so human and she's always saying something that strikes a chord in me. Adrienne Leasa, singer/songwriter, http://www.mp3.com/absorbed
I'd just like to say that I think it's incredibly tacky to use another artist's message board to advertise your own shit, like the person above did, complete with link to what's most likely a crappy song. Cheers, Hazel
week and half ago I heard A song of yours' on wxpn,U of P in Philly, and a chill keeps running down my spine. Couldn't find you in local shops. Not a great surprise for smelly old Reading, PA. But, the Gods of the internet intervined and your likeness was pushed into my life via my mail slot. Ain't life grand? I read a bit of the bio, I thought Patterson was spelled with two letter "t"'s. I didn't check, so I am most likely wrong. Oh well. I love your stuff! I wish I could have you perform at my wedding in October. I like your songs that much. One criticisism, cities are incapable of feelings. If Patterson seems sad, you might be seeing your own reflection. People are there, living, loving and raising families, as they always have. I know there is more joy than then could ever be realized by any won person. Keep it up! keep trying to make me think! - Greg Hill Thrillhill@aol.com
I'm Jane-road manager for Susan Werner-big long time fan of Dayna's music, new CD is unbelievable. Any dates surrounding the Joe's Pub date June 19th-anything in Philly, NJ area? thanks
If there is anyone out there who can make a copy of Footprints for me, (I've gotten Dayna's permission on this) I'd really appreciate it. Give me an email if you're willing. Thank you, Beth
GREAT show on June 1 9 at Joe's Pub! Can't wait to catch you in Brooklyn next week.
I have been listening to Postcards From Downtown since well, actually I heard a track or 2 sometime before it was released when Randy Crafton played a work tape for me and asked "What do you think"? It's been a long time that I've been listening to music, having been born on 9/13/50 I've been together longer than the Who or Rolling Stones so as I said to Randy @ Joes Pub 6/19 "I don't get excited by much,,,but this" Personally I'd put Dayna up there With some much better know Talent, say a Lucinda Williams for instance. Though differant and coming from perhaps differant roots I tell friends if they Like smokey jazz/bluesy folk and have any discerning tastes left in their body then what are they waiting for! Truly loved the gig w/Randy, Richard on bass and Ethyl on strings @ Joes Pub. It really knocked me out and I was holding back! See you @ The Bottom Line 7/26 MMMM MMMM Good! Better than soup! Paul Wolf
Just found out about Dayna a few months ago on XPN in Philly. Love love love "Postcards". Looking forward to the Tin Angel appearance in August. The site is great. Can't wait to unwrap "Luscious Life" in the near future. Thanks Dayna, for insight and musical pleasure not easily found. You are truly beautiful.
Got tix for solarfest (sunday only) just to hear/see dayna live again, as good as the recordings are they can't give you what dayna gives you in a live gig. You folks that have not seen her, go out of your way to do so, there will be no regrets. It's been a long time...about 6 yrs ago @ the iron horse opening for richie havens, a couple times at the bookmill in montague ma. a tiny yet cozy place where 40 people could pack the place. I'm so glad i saw you there dayna, you sent chills down my spine...and still do when i listen to "postcards" fred astaire and miss liberty come to mind. Love the cds, see ya, tom.
Hey, Dayna. I first heard you several years ago at the Kerrville Folk Festival, and I was completely mesmerized. I always get friends to come hear you when you're in town (Austin), and they always love you. The thing I don't get, though, is why you're always the opener! I'm sorry, but every time you're better than the "feature", and your set is always too short. In fact, I usually don't stay for the headliner because how can they possibly follow you?! Sorry -- I'm just a music snob, I guess. You kick ass. So, I'm moving to Germany in two weeks -- when are you going to start touring Europe, huh? ;) All the best. Jennifer Kirkland

Dayna, I just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to see you perform last night in Dallas! I think our favorite was "Just Like Jack". The only problem I had was with the idiots in the back of the club that wouldn't shut up! Best wishes for your success! Albert and Davia Madariaga
You really can stumble upon some amazing things on this here net! My God!, I can surely attest to your lengthy musical journ(ey/al). Congratulations on your staying power. You might visit www.vishelland.com for a trip of sorts... I know that your voice is as strong and sure as ever. Buena Suerte! \~VIS~/ www.vishelland.com www.mp3.com/vis
Dayna...saw you in Charlotte at that Sunday night Evening Muse show back some months ago...I'm hoping that you will come to the southeast again soon...do you have any plans set to do so? You're an amazing musician...I'm the one that said you sounded like a female Jeff Buckley :) Anyway, "lent" your CD to a musician friend of mine and I've not seen it again..guess I have to buy another. Hope all is going well with the jazz standards! Look forward to hearing you again. Next time you are in the southeast, I would love to talk with you about a musician that I work with (my part time contribution to supporting his grassroots efforts) and the possibility of him being an opener for your show...he's incredible & his music is a jazz influenced folk with heavy influences of Jeff Buckley, Martin Sexton, & Ellis Paul. He has some developed fan base in Decatur (Eddie's Attic) and Cary (Six String Cafe)as well as other areas of the southeast. Big warm Hidy! from Austin, Tx. I just heard "Love Gets In The Way" this week on KGSR, found the CD today. Wow! I'll be spreadin' the word now. Brilliant and amazing work! When you come to Austin, I'll be there. And thank you, for the music.
I love Dayna's music!!! I was wondering if Cornerstone will ever be released on CD. My cassette is totally worn out. Please consider it. Thanks! Rose in HOuston
so glad to see that you're still at it. thanks for the website and the music. now i must obtain a copy of the new c.d. and do some catching up on where you've been. keep them old cars runnin' and keep safe!!....jere
Hey Dayna...Donna and Kelly from Still on the Hill here....PLEASE email us immediatly. I was getting a cuppa coffee at our coffeehouse down the street and saw that you are playing in town on Aug 17th. Do you need lodging??? We have a gig in town but yours is earlier and maybe you could come afterwards. It's a houseconcert with all of our close friends coming. I wish it wasn't the same eve so we could all come see you!!!! I really want to talk or email you. If you send us your personal email...I'll send a phone number and we can connect about this. HOpe you get this. Love ya DOnna
Look for me in the crowd when you come to Fayetteville AR Aug 17th. I'll be the 4th chubby, blond geek guy from the left with glasses. You'll recognize me cause I won't be able to stop making goo-goo eyes at you. I haven't looked forward to a show this much since Marcia Ball came to town, and then I couldn't make it afterall. Not this time.
Thank you for sharing your talent at Richie Havens' show at the Bottom Line. A new wonderful talent that will be on my list of favorites. Reminded me of a couple other songwriters who became new favorites, Greg Brown and Jeff Lang whom I got to watch at Irving Plaza a couple months ago. Thanks!
I'm glad you still like being on the road most of the time. It made about 50 people in Fayetteville, AR richer last night. Your choice seems to give more to all the people you visit than you receive in return. You shouldn't be cheated. Your guitar playing is exciting and your writing and voice are fresh and strong. Just a wonderful show. Do come again. By the way. What's Monroe's stage name? Can I find some of his music on albums, cd's or mp3? You can't just tease us and run away. Or are you that kind of girl?
Dana, I just heard you on my computer on WNCW and hope you are well. I don't know if you remember me but we met at Jack Williams Edisto weekend in South Carolina. My girlfriend Dea, fiance now, enjoyed meeting you and loved your music. If you are in Columbia give us a call. My toll free office # (888) 746-5439 Ext. 211. Home (803) 376-4344. Take care. Hey Dayna! It is with great shame that I have let so much time pass without trying to track you down. I should've tried harder to stay in touch with you. I hope this finds you healthy, happy, and nostalgic for poet friends of the past. with love, the ryk
Happy Birthday Dayna! Please come back to Decatur, GA & Eddie's Attic SOON!
Hi Dayna, I'm a fan from England and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your new CD. I have also bought your live CD and would love to see you in concert one day over here in England. Thanks again for making beautiful music. Dave

hi i received an announcement about your mid-west tour, and I must say it was a blast from the past. I have not heard hide nor hair of you sice my college days at Indiana University while I was spending most of my social time with the band SARDINA or was it still THE GERUNDS when you came through town. There is one song that you covered that I can almost hear in my head still..but can't recall the name. You invited Michelle Marchesseault on stage with you for a duet, wow, how often do people get to hear a pair of voices like that on stage. I do not have as many ties to the music scene any more but still a few contacts, I am in Chicago now, I have lost contact with the band for the most part, PJ and I broke up but we are both doing well. If any of the old gang reads this drop me a line. Dayna my place is messy but I have a futon if you need one whil your in town, even though you probably don't remember me, Did you play at the Cheshire Cafe in Bloomington, I was a coffee slinger there for work study.... whatever, i swear I never writr on the internet it's kind of wierd just blowing words into the electronic wind...whooshhhhh, Marjorie

Hey. I didn't mean to resend that!
Hi Dayna, I am a singer sonwriter in Door county , Wi. I heard you at the Town Hall Bakery in Jacksonport about a month ago. I bought the last available Postcards cd that night. I thought you were wonderful and wish I could of talked to you , but many people were around. I love your voice, your lyrics ...very gutsy and from the heart. So important for us women to be able to be real in our expressions of who we are and how the world affects us. The arrangements on Postcards I think are brilliant and I love the darkness and the light in your music. I would love to cover a few of your songs if you wouldn't mind. How can I talk to you about that? peace, jeanne Yingst
Hi Dayna, I found your site on the web when I was looking for the name "Kurtz". Also my surname! I have now had a chance to hear some of your work, and I'm hooked! I shall try and get some of your music over here in the UK! I shall also be pestering the Radio stations here to play your music. Good luck! cousin??????? Rowley Kurtz Wales, UK

Dear Dayna, I had the privledge of being buried alive by your soulful music in Fayetteville, Ar. on November 7th, I believe it was. I had to dig myself out for days! The intimate gathering, the atmosphere of that wonderful home and your stories set to dirty guitar compelled me to give you what very little cash I had to my name at the time. I wanted to support this incredible talent in hopes that the universe would in turn support me for mine. You know how that works. So I gave you my money for one of your cd's. I got home and immediately wanted another dose of your soul. I have to tell you, I was so disappointed with what "over-production" did with your talent. I unwittingly bought the Postcards from Downtown cd which doesn't do you justice. Is it asking too much to buy a cd with my last dollar in hopes of recreating (in part) that night of the 7th in my personal space? I have since talked with several of my friends who were also there that night and bought this same cd. They too feel this dissapointment. I say this only as positive feedback for a talented woman who deserves to be represented in her best light. memories of you, Stephanie
Dayna, I would like my personal comments to be kept between just you and me. Please do not post my comments on this website. believing in you, Stephanie
Just heard your cd. It is one of the best things I've heard in years. Outstanding and inspiring work.
Dayna, We have tried to find your CD's for a while. We finally found your web site and ordered Postcards from the Edge. Can't wait to get it. Could you please let us know when and where you are playing and if you will ever come back to Atlanta Ga. Is there a place we can get "Footprints"? Please let us know. This was on my girlfriends Christmas list and I could not find it. Thanks Travis

Saw you in Summer '02 opening for Charlie Hunter. Never heard of you befor ethat night. You blew me away. I have played for 30 years and what I've heard,it most all sounds the same. You don't - at all. The public needs to know who you are on a grand scale. Thank you for giving me 45 minutes of your life on that one summer night at the Whitaker Center.
hey - just heard your song on the indie choice compilation - best damn thing on there, so great - going cd-hunting now. thanks.
Hi Dayna, I saw you last night at the Living Room 2/5/03 after Rebecca Martin. Rebecca encouraged me to stay to hear you. I'm glad I did. I'm buying both of your CDs. My friend Sue, who I brought to hear Rebecca with me, thought you were awesome too. You unzipped this huge zipper from chin down, ripped yourself open and unapologetically spilled your guts unscensored. The courage, the honesty, I just sat there trying to remember to raise my jaw up, because it kept falling down. Your a great performer, you have a strong, clean, full voice and vocal sound, and the one or two screams that you issued were the best quality screams I've heard out of a singer in a long time. I loved the song Jack. Good luck with the wedding and congratulations. Please put me on your mailing list. Sincerely, Sherrin Bernstein Touch Fitness, Inc. I'M A LIFELONG FAN. I MET YOU AT A WOMYN'S MUSIC FESTIVAL IN NORTHAMPTON MASS BACK IN 92. OR WAS IT 93? I'M SURE YOU REMEMBER ME, I WAS THE TALL ONE WHO HUNG ON TO YOUR EVERY LYRIC, CHORD AND NOTE. I BOUGHT FOOTPRINTS ON CASSETT AND I'VE PLAYED IT TILL IT IS ABOUT WORN OUT. I STILL WEEP WHEN I LISTEN TO TOUCHSTONE. RE-RECORD IT ON CD IN FUTURE? I'M HAPPY TO BUY ANYTHING YOU RECORD, PLEASE DON'T STOP MAKING 'YOUR' MUSIC. PERHAPS AT SOME CONCERT IN THE FUTURE...I'M THE TALL ONE OUT THERE, WHO IS MESMERIZED BY YOUR MUSIC.
You can add to the list of radio stations playing the CD. I heard it on Radio London, the BBC station for England's capital, played by Robert Elms, and had to stop driving to listen. Wonderful. John Howard
dayna just got postcards and luscious entranced me and i still weep persist spinning your spells like to a flame i come still
Dayna, Thank you so much for braving the winding roads of the Ozarks to perform at the house concert last night. I'm among the Little Rock contingent — the ones who arrived a little late — and we had a wonderful time. Your smart lyrics and mournful voice made the drive completely worth it. (And I'll swear to anyone that we saw a bear.) Be sure to add a Little Rock venue on your next tour through here. Juanita's and Vino's are always good spots to play. Carla
Well, I´m a huge fan of music in general and I work in a record store. Two days before, the promotional girl of Dock company give me the postcards from downtown cd and I was hipnotizaded with the voice of Dayna Kurtz. I appreciated this touch of jazz sensibility in songs, darkness vibes in others, and the arragaments in general. I hope that someday, Barcelona (Spain), will be in her tour list. Thank you.
Dayna, Best of luck with your release and tour in Europe. You're goig to blow them away!!! I predict great things are coming your way. One note at a time... la da da, Rick Rock
dear dayna, i just bought your postcards album. it really moved me "all the way down". it's great to hear real music in these synthetic times! i hope you'll come to holland and play some live gigs, you can check out the downtown's here. keep on playing your music! warmest regards ronald, (probably a fan for ever)
hi, i just saw Dayna in Paradiso in Amsterdam this evening and wow. Read a fantastic review on her cd this week, by accident, and noticed she was playing in Paradiso so went of course, after having bought her cd. Absolutely amazing, very pure, great voice and guitarplay... i'm very impressed and happy to have her cd in my collection. grtz Corine
Dear Dayna Last week we discovered your amazing CD and yesterday we saw you in Paradiso Amsterdam. It was again an amazing experience for which we want to thank you. It was a pleasure to be at your official debute in Holland. And we're convinced that you will take home all the grammies next time, so that you and your friends can play checkers with them. Wow, that coffeehouse in New York must be one of the best places in the world. The combination of a voice that can express the moving lyrics you write so brilliantly is very rare and we hope that you will record a lot more albums with your own songs. Looking forward to those and hope you come back some time in the (near) future. In the mean time we will give all our friends your cd for their birthdays! Hope you have some time to wander around in the Netherlands, if you ever want to come to Leiden (40 km from A'dam) I would be honoured to show you round! thanks Annelies (Who was so stupid to leave the setlist you wrote) & Frans
Hi Dayna, Today I heard your music for the first time and I love it. I only heard the song on this website. I want your new CD and I'm exited about it.I missed your concert in Paradiso, Amsterdam and I am not able to see you in Deventer. Hope you'll return to Holland for more concerts. Hope to see and hear you soon. Lots of luck. Nida
Saw your gig on Monday night - (opening for Johnny Dowd at the Borderline in London) and was completely blown out of the water! So very glad to have bought Postcards cd and am so looking forward to seeing you when you return Take it from me the 12 Bar is great but too small! try the Troubadour and get some PRESS! we NEED you here in London. Come back soon!
I love the voice, the songs, the lyrics. It's great. I keep playing the cd over and over again. What a pity I missed the shows in Holand. Please, do come back and I will be in the first row. Paul Gerrits from Amsterdam
Dayna, Read a great review in the newspaper and next week you played in our smalltown Austerlitz, where nothing ever happens. For more than 25 years I'm a music fanatic. Sometimes I think: and now it's over, I've heard it all and the next moment I'm happy to be taken by surprise. A long introduction to say I love your songs and the beautiful balance and silence and soul in them and your concentrated performance. I'm happy with what you do now and very curious what's gonna come. Hope to see you soon again in Holland!!
Dayna: While sitting in the waiting room of Dr. Conti's office, I heard the most incredibly beautiful music. It had a Mid-East flavor, mandoline and violin and was so beautiful, that I had to find out from Chris, what I was listening to. Needless to say it was you. I am now waiting for a download so I can stream excerpts from your second album. When I get up enough ambition to go get my wallet, I will type in my Visa number and order the album. The one selection I heard was captivating. Thanks
Hi Just discovered your music, after reading an article in a dutch newspaper. Miraculous and marvellous is your music, i i'm pretty suprised. There is only one dark point...................i just dicovered today (april 16) that you had a concert in the netherlands afew day's ago, i missed, sh... regards ralph www.ralphbakker-rotterdam.luna.nl
Oh my sweet Jesus, I knew you were a kindred spirit and my NEW SUPERHERO when a friend said she had a new record that I just had to listen to and once I got it I literally haven't listened to anything but 'Postcards' since. That was 2 weeks ago and I've been infected. I sing it all the time, revel in the kickass brilliance of the songwriting and knew upon first listen that it was produced by Craig Street (I'm a huge Joe Henry/Casandra Wilson fan.) I woke up this morning to It's been a long time, in my head before I even opened my eyes as the first few moments of waking. That's how I want my day to start, not compulsing over all the busYness that sometimes is my life but waking to beauty. I love music and being a maker of music and I just wanted to thank you for being a maker of exceptional music. You make the world a better place for being here and sharing this gift. And these days the world could stand a little lovin' via the beauty of art. I know that making music and getting it out in the open makes for an uphill (on your bloodied hands and knees, sobbing and wailing) climb at times but despite the business aspect, I hope it is more joy than drudgery for you because this record is genius! and it's changed my life, raised the bar for me as an artist and reminds me (in it's sheer brilliance)that this is why I sing, this is why I write my little songs, this is too, why I'm here. So I just wanted to say THANK YOU and keep making your beauty mark on the face of this hidious business. May your dark (seemingly at times)dim little soul light shine out and guide all of the good lovers of great music back to ourselves and ultimately to eachother. Don't mean to get all intense and shit on ya so early in the morning but I just felt compelled to say how I feel about this record and that I just read the article from Womanrock and Thank You sista for settin' all the 'Seatpeeeers' straight! Jesus Christ there's nothing, NOTHING worse than sitting on someone elses pee. So upon ending this love rant I want you to come tour thru Austin. Me, Niki Duncan, and Richard Buckner live here so that's reason enough to route the tour accordingly. I think Richard is actually in Europe this summer and I don't know if you're friends or not but I noticed somewhere you mentioned you'd opened for him and he's my other Superhero and a dang nice guy so I just thought I'd up the antee by mentioning that he lives here now. So that's it really. If you want to check out a few of my babies I keep them warm and bundled over at CDBABY for now www.cdbaby.com/nikiduncan/cd and I hope you get this message. If this is being read first by one of your devotee hardworking subsuperheros that keep the ship afloat whilst you rock in the freeworld office personnel PLEASE forward this onto to Dayna. Thank you all and goodnight. Niki Duncan

Hey, my name is Jan aka Piv Huvluv, standupcomedian in Belgium (dutch spoken part) I saw Dana playing a support act (solo) for Mark Olson & Victoria Williams in Leffinge (Belgium) and I was quite impressed by her voice and what it did to me. The next day I went to my local record shop and bought Postcards from Downtown. Since then the cd is my constant companion in the car when I come back from another show far away from home. Sometimes I have to wipe away the tears in my eyes when a song like Love gets in the way comes to me loud and clear, driving on the highway home. Thanks Dayna, and I loved your version of Parlez-moi d'Amour that you played there in Leffinge. Put it on your next record !!!! Please come back to Belgium and bring in the band !!! Jan/Piv

Dayna, Your performance on the Barend & van Dorp show in the Netherlands yesterday was so good! Since your album came out in the Netherlands I'm a huge fan. Did you know that "Postcards from Downtown" has a five star rate (that's the highest) in every single music-magazine in our country?!? Well, I'm the first to understand why! I love you music, I love your lyrics, but most of all: I really, really love your beautiful voice. Thanks for making the music that no-one else could make... Mz. Kurtz: Love your music! I am 54 and on a music quest. It has made so much positive difference in my life to be exposed through the Net to all of what I have been missing, finding all these gems amongst the rubble that the music industry has made. My wife wonders at my favorites(not that we don't share a wide spectrum of music in common), making me wonder lately what it is I like, and why. The only answer that I can come up with is this: the story, and the ability to tell it in a song. A great voice helps too. You have it all. I hope to hear a new album from you soon. Best of luck, Marc

Dayna - i am keeping my fingers crossed for a London gig mid-June. Its been a long time....since i heard a voice that takes me to the ends of my heartstrings. Would you do this one thing - PLEASE PLEASE bring some copies of the 'Otherwise Luscious Life' CD to sell at the euro-gigs....i've looked high and low and that cd doesn't seem to be available here. I really want to bring some mates to hear you - so post those dates as soon as they are confirmed. Consider the 'Troubadour' in London - a great venue and really fine crowd. love from koko
Fabulous Voice!!! -cuts into the true touch of loving and being loved- What an unexpected surprise... I went to hear the Blind Boys of Alabama in Harrisburg, Pa. expecting to mend a broken heart by listening to some old time gospels and just have a night of 'Church'. I caught your act late, but just in time to be infected by 'Love gets in the way' and 'Last good taste' Thank you... your voice, your guitar playing, it all made for a proper introduction towards healing my wasted soul. Of course I had to buy your 2002 CD, 'Postcards from Downtown' its one of my favorites in my CD player!!!! I can't wait until you're back in the area again.
Amsterdam, 6/3/03, I bought Dayna's album only a few days ago and at first I didn't know what to think about it. Was this a woman singing or a man? How about these simply mental lyrics? But now, after listening to it on my discman in bed in the wee small hours of the night, I'm sure of it! This is the best singer/songwriter's album since Lucinda Williams "Car wheels on a gravel road". Can't wait to hear her next album and I'm definitely going to her show in Paradiso this week!
Dayna, It was a pleasure listening to you sing and play at The Whitaker Center on Thursday May 29th. I liked your words. Thanks for sharing your gift with us. Mary Kingcaid- new fan

Im paradisum: Dayna in amsterdam Yesterday my sweet friend came to pick up at work and we drove in her silver spider Alfa 147 to the centre of sunny Amsterdam. We pulled in at the closest parkinggarage from Paradiso, which later turned out to cost 1,5 euro per half hour. And headed out for a meal.<br> Enjoying the nice weather on the terrace, excellent indonesian food & belgian white beers and very amusing stories on her new lover, Dayna just walked up the street, followed by the band and a camera. So i could not resist the moment and yelled Dayna You're the best, see you in Paradiso. Dayna smiled and said to her cameraman: "Well looks like you missed you're moment." Waived and walked in the same restaurant to also have some excellent indonesian food.<br> We were joking around with the waiter and asked him if he had struck a deal with paradiso to send all bands to this nice place. He answered Nee but well yeah a lot of artist had eaten at his place, like Bruce Springsteen and Eagle eye Cherry, and lot's of others but he couldn't remember. I thought this to be a very strange combination to remember firstly and i am still very curious who all these other artists are ..... ?<br> We got down to the Paradiso early and got to sit right before the stage. It has gone fast with Dayna. 2 months ago, she was playing solo, we could buy tickets at the door and the paradiso was crowded, but not too crowded. And now she's back with a band, sold out house within a month and a camerateam. Turns out she was shooting a DVD of this gig. I already own the ryan dvd (no time to see it, only got one friend with a dvdplayer), so i guess it is time to buy a dvdplayer. And last time someone out of the audience had to replace a broken string, this time there was a guy who switched the guitars.<br> The gig was again good. She played the songs from her Album, old songs from earlier times and some new ones. The band played her slow songs a bit to fast. My baby and me liked them better when she sang solo, but her faster songs sounded great with the band. It was a wonderful evening, the crowd clapped and stamped her back three times and you could she was touched by that and that was so sweet. So i hope that she enjoyed the evening as much as we did, even though maybe it wasn't ther magical music night. I guess artist must have that feeling once in a while that everything just works out, all chords are just right, the voice is perfect and timing as well. And those must be the magical ones. Where is the line between very good and genius? With Dayna is it almost indistinguisable.
Dayna, great site! Its good to find you again. I first heard you play in '91 at the Skylight Exchange in Chapel Hill, NC. I bought your "Footprints" tape and nearly wore it out playing it very often over the years. I am elated to be able to order your two CDs now. I'm still waiting for a west coast show ;-) Love ya, Mark
Dayna, I saw you yesterday in Chesterfield Café (Madrid). I got to tell you that it was wonderful. I'm going to buy your Cd right now because I love the way you sing and play those wonderful guitars. It would be great to know what kind of opened tuning you use in your guitars, because almost with every song you changed the tuning. Thank you for your passion and strong feelings. Adiós. Jaime
Dayna, Paradiso 2 days ago was just the most amazing show I've ever been to! Thank you so much!! Your voice is live even more (well: much more) powerful and beautiful than on the album! I already have Postcards since the first day it came out in the Netherlands, but I can't wait to find and buy and listen to a live-album of yours. Love, Rutger
I was very impressed and influenced greatly by your way of writing and the use of your voice. Shockingly beautiful. It's givin me strength to take music as a career. That it still can be done among these years. The path sometimes comes black, with the only light to lead is one alone and solemn beam. Thank you.
your music is wonderfull
I was really impressed by the Paradiso show on the 5th of june. Thanks!
Excellent. I didn´t know Dyana. After listening her record "postcards from downtown" I think I will be his fan for all my life. She has left a deep impression on me.
Hi Went to the Amsterdam Paradiso concert june 5th Really great, became an instant fan Dim
dayna, thank you for the best album this year!! purity, that's what it is. Marijke
dayna, thank you for the best album this year!! purity, that's what it is. Marijke
well, London is especially beautiful this weekend - and the only thing that can improve it is to cap off the evening with one of your gigs - but alas i've checked all the listings and you're not here. Please come back soon - koko
Dyna: You have a real hidden admirer in the states.I probably admire you almost as much your husband and I love you a lot also.We are very proud of what you what you accomplished and we look forwar to see what you will accomplish. In my opinion your success is just starting. All my love.MANNY
Dayna, Your performance in Paradiso on the fifth of june is my second favorite concert of all time. My all time favorite is of course your first concert in Paradiso. In that one your singing, timing and stature were mesmerizing and stood up to the high expectations I had after being totally impressed with Postcards. But for some constructive criticism. In my opinion you probably have two or three songs which require a band. As for your other songs, among which all of your more reflective and sentimental outings, I advise you to loose the band and stick with the accordeonplayer. On the fifth of june the band played way too fast on Postcards, Love gets in the way and Fred Astaire. Maybe the DVD aspect of the whole thing also got to your nerves. You looked a lot less relaxed than the first concert. Anyway even if the band hadn't played too fast, they just don't add to the quality of most of your songs. One last thing, please don't become another Nora Jones and keep up the good work form postcards. There are enough good&smooth jazz singers as it is. Hope you'll be back in Holland soon. Frans
Hi Dayna-- Your music is phenominal--truly touching. How about some lyrics on your site? It would enhance the music all the more! Thanks!
hola Dayna, i recently hear your "Postcards From Downtown" album and i adore it. Thanks! All this songs make me dream in all this hot summer nights. Best wishes from Madrid. Hope the best summer for you. kisses. Roberto
Dead Dayna, I'm very thrilled by your music. It's often heard on the Dutch radio. Love, Hanneke van Kammen Heerenveen, The Netherlands
dayna, i've had your cd for the better part of a year now and it's never far from the cd player. i admire you're songwritting, beautiful voice and guitar playing. i can't wait to hear your new material. is there any chance that you'll be releasing a new cd soon? at any rate i a devoutee. god bless and all the best, agh
I saw and heard Dayna at the TV-show off 'Barend and van Dorp' in Amsterdam. Never heard such an incredible voice. It's hard to believe she wasn't known before in Holland. I'm telling all my colleges and friends how beautifull and impressing her songs are! I'am very sorry I didn't hear her life. I hope she comes again to Holland. Dayna: Try Utrecht, Holland: the music Hall 'Vredenburg'. Is known as a very good acoustic hall for concerts in the Netherlands. Please come again to Holland !!!!
"Postcards From Downtown" is a great album, with marvellous songs and a touching voice. Thank you Dayna and all members of the "Postcards" crue. It's my 'album of the year'. Hope to see and hear you in Amsterdam again. Piet
Dayna, I read your interview on Womanrock with Brenda Kahn - it was really funny - I'm definately gonna check out your CD now. Stay away from the bloodsuckers at "major" labels. Isn't it interesting to note that almost nobody within the corporate music world - knows anything about music. The VP's, the mid-level managers, the marketing exects, the accountants, the 'royalties people', the publishing division, many of the A&R's, shit in many cases the bands themselves, don't know anything about music history, they don't know how to read or write music, they don't know anything... stay away from these bloodsuckers... The people in Holland love you - that's all you have to focus on!! After I produced Brenda Kahn's first album "Goldfish Don't Talk Back" at Community 3, I saw her get signed to a 'major' - we were all so psyched and partied up... but... they totally screwed it up... she rocks and deserved better!! Albert Garzon check us out: www.ixionburlesque.com
PS: you gotta add some navigation buttons on this page in your webiste !!!
omg, paterson is just brilliant, ive been tryin to play it myself, but i cant find that one chord, im sure u kno which one i mean... and how about a tour to europe, preferbly holland ;) would love to see u live... anyhoo, keep up the good work...
hmmm, just read some of the entries and it looks like u have a lot of dutch fans... found out you were here in paradiso, grrrrr, why didnt u tell me u was coming ;)... anyhoo... greatz from yet another dutch fan... ps. is it just me, or are there 2 of the very same "submit comments" windows ??
I´m ashamed to say that I only know a few songs (Love gets in the way really touched me.) Dayna appeared in a Dutch tv-show and she really impressed me. I really really want to get the new album, but I´m a poor student and with the ridiculous prizes for cd´s in Holland it´s probably gonna take a while until I can spare the money... Anyway, Dayna: please keep up the good work! Sanne, Amsterdam, The Netherlands PS: Does anyone know where I can get Dayna-lyrics??
Love your stuff just love it.Richness of the sounds ,depths of the feeling. Can't wait to hear more Thank you Dayna ! I just got your Album and it's made my day. From Mike Allen .Hertfordshire. England
About a month ago, my Cajun boyfriend, pining for the swamps and New Orleans, streamed Louisiana Jukebox through our computer on a lazy Austin Sunday morning. I started doing housework, gardening or something outside, when I heard this raw, gutsy, sweet and hopeful sound. I had to literally stop what I was doing, sit down, and listen, and it was all I could do to not burst into tears. Since then, I have heard two more arrangements of "Love Gets in the Way," but I have to say that the one with the accordion is my favorite, if only for old times' sake. I can only kick myself for missing SXSW this last time around; I will not make the same mistake if and when you come through Austin again. Thanks, and safe journey.
Hi, I just wanted to tell you that here in Britain Bob Harris a radio DJ on the national radio station BBC Radio 2 played a track off your new CD last night and was rather complimentary about it. It was my first listen to your music and I have to say that I'm impressed and will be ordering the CD on import from my local store. Good Luck with the album and I hope to see you on stage in Britain someday. Regards Eyan
We have been ( my wife and i , at the Brugge concert on Aug 2 2003 ) and could fully appreciate the performance of Dayana . I am 70 years old now , have been a semi-professional jazz player , sax alt , tenor and clarinet with a 7 man's big jazz-dance orchestre created at school in the years 1950-55 I stopped around 1970 , beeing to busy in my own shop selling hifi and TV sets and servicing .But i always love that kind of music from the earlier years , hating techno !!! In sept 1999 we have been in Memphis and New Orleans . Kind regards and sorry for my kind of that dutch-english ! Ackaert J Brugge - Belgium
Dayna, I see where you are playing in Denmark, SC on August 15-17. I am on the coast of SC in Beaufort and was wondering if you will be playing or interesting in playing near Beaufort, Hilton Head Island, Savannah, or Charleston. Just curious seeing that the Denmark show is private. Would you be interested in a another private show while down in these parts? Dincerely, Jim Thomas
Just listened to one of her songs.. Amazing voice

In august you're still in Europe, why not play at the Lowlands festival in the Netherlands, last weekend of august(?). Would be great to see you at the Dommelsch podium (mostley rock/metal), at sunday, to shock and shiver the audience. See you soon, Tessa

this is wonderful
Hi Dayna, I like to be critical, but I can't say anything badly about your songs. They're just perfect: intense, emotional, words etc. The first song I ever heard of you was 'love gets in the way' on Dutch TV. I just made me want to hear more of your songs. I'm gonna see you live in Amsterdam 10 oct. in Paradiso. I'm definately looking forward to that date. I wish you the best for your career. Singers like you should get more attention. You're an inspiring artist. greetings Jörgen Holland (http://listen.to/pax - PAX singer/songwriter)
I too saw Dayna on tv play one song and took the gamble of buying the cd right away. And it's great! Now I'm extra lucky because Dayna is coming to play in my home town. I'm looking forward to it!

I love your songs and Iam looking forward seeing/hearing you in Holland soon. Thanks for giving me so much pleasure in listening to your music and lyrics.

Hey Dayna-- It's Dr. Heather's little brother, Patric. I just wanted to tell you that you really sounded great at the Edisto. Anne and I look forward to seeing you play again and hope that all is well. Take care-- Patric B.
Hi Dayna, (Nina Simone with a guitar), I was fortunate enough to see your performance in Hudsonville, Mi on Sept.11th. I knew I was going to be moved by Richie, but I was equally moved by yourself. Your new CD has been playing wherever their has been a player since. I hope the size of the crowd doesn't discourage you from coming to the area again, however I will definitely travel to see you again. Hope to see you again soon!!!!!!!!!!! Here's to lettin' your soul be your pilot (: Donny
Hi Dayna, (Nina Simone with a guitar) I just became a fan of your music on Sept.11th after seeing you perform in Hudsonville,MI on Sept.11th. I hope the size of the crowd doesn't discourage you from coming back to the area again, however I will travel to see you again. The new CD is wonderful, it is getting a lot of time in my world of music. Hope to see you soon, here's to lettin' your soul be your pilot(: Donny
Culdaff County Donegal Mac's Backroom Bar 19th September 2003, a truly womderful night. I hope this will not be your last time to enthrall us.I've sent you a photo I took of you from the front row, a memento of the evening... A New Irish Fan
Loved the gig last night in Culdaff. Hope you enjoyed your stay in Donegal. Would love to catch your set again before you head off to Europe. Fingers crossed! Bought the record and have been listening all day, I'm really enjoying it. Thank you for a great set and a lovely record! Mickey
Saw u at Campbell's pub headford Galway 22 sep 2003, really liked your show, hope the rest goes well for u. best wishes, William
I saw your show once at the Saxon Pub in Austin, Texas. I was so moved, I've not forgotten it. Then, I moved... to a different state. Now I live in Las Vegas, and I'm afraid I won't get to hear you live again, since you seem to play the more 'intimate' clubs. I hope you'll make it this way someday, so I can hear you play live again. Thank you.
this is cooool and fantastic. guys i don waka hereo, wawoooooooo. fantastic.
Hi Dayna ... It was a pleasure to see you for the first time at the Dranouter festival, completely unexpected but full impressed by your performance. And it was more than worth to attent another concert from you yesterday at the Brussels AB. Jos
Hi Dayna: Just wanted to tell you I enjoyed yesterday's show at the AB Club in Brussels a lot! Nice mixture of older tunes and some very good new ones... I've been listening today to the live CD I bought yesterday. And this has confirmed the opinion I had after the show: just stick to straightforward arrangements with a live sound. Your songs, your voice and your guitarwork don't need a lot of embellishment. Keep it simple. Some of the songs on Postcards from Downtown are a little bit over-produced... Just my 2 cents worth... Next time you're around, I'll definitely come and see you again!
Dayna my maiden name was Kurtz who was your ancestors i sure could use some help our family name isn.t to popular. Thanks, Anna Kurtz Demarest
Dayna my maiden name was Kurtz who was your ancestors i sure could use some help our family name isn.t to popular. Thanks, Anna Kurtz Demarest
Dayna, Just saw your concert in Nijmegen (LUX), the Netherlands. Marvellous performance! Most, if not all, of the songs from your CD "Postcards" came by. Was impressed by the intensity. Loved the French song "Parler moi d'amour". Greetings Frank Oerlemans
Dayna, We were just driving down the highway, my son and I.I turned on the radio and heard you singing.I enjoyed the song and as soon as the DJ gave us your name I told my son to write it down. The scrap of paper you were on eluded me for some time, but when it surfaced I told myself to get to the and bring you home.now you're part of the family.
I have just arrived home from the Paradiso gig in Amsterdam, and know that i will be thinking about what beauty i heard tonight, for a long time.
I'm reduced to BEGGING now - please schedule something for London. Its been too long.
Great concert in Amsterdam. Especially the song September in Amsterdam, a bright new song. The band was good, the voice of Dayna was great. She can compete the well-known voices of Nina Simone, Billy Holliday and Tikita Tikaram. Jan Kuperus
Hallo, Me and my husband enjoyed ourselves very much las friday (10-10)in Paradiso, Amsterdam. Paying your CD, Postcard, every day.
Playing your CD, every day!
great concert tonight in la boite barcelona dayna. please come back soon! fran
thanx for a great show at Paradiso, Amsterdam!
Hi Dayna! I attended your concert in Barcelona, Spain. I really liked the energy and good vibes you projected. I greatly enjoyed being able to witness your awsome performance, and at the same time, feel the deep lyrics of your songs. Anyway, I am a newcomer to this kind of music, and believe me, you have been a good "Godmother"! hahahah sorry! I could not help saying it. Well, I wish you good luck and keep up the good work! Rob (a new fan of your music)
I went to 013 in Tilburg and took my family and friends with me, they're all fan now. I hope you'll return soon. Greetings Dennis

Dayna is a great artist with real soul, somewhat reminding me of a Tracy Chapman. I loved the CD until it was in my player that was stolen from my car. Go figure, it was parked downtown...
Hallo I've seen and heard Dayna in Paradiso last week and I was deeply impressed. Fantastic her voice gitar her personality Alice
Dayna, I listened again all night to your CD, while doing some painting. Every time I like it more. Tonight I suddeny thought that you must be Ritchie Havens daughter, your voices have something in common. (it;s not likely that you really are... I know, I remember him from his performance in Woodstock). These last months I listen to my old records of Joni Mitchell, all the time, and can hardly stand any other music. I did not listen to her records for almost fifteen years and i am deeply impressed , more than beford and i really liked her then, I think it was in 1978 that I bought her records, the first nine. And tonight I could not get enough of your beautiful music. Thanks Marijke van Swaaij. Holland
hi Dayna, Deeply impressed by your concert in Lux. Nijmegen, last october. Bought your DVD Postcards from Amsterdam and play it over and over. I can hardly wait for your forthcoming cd. love
Hey, I saw a concert on Dutch tv, recorded in Paradiso. And now i'm in love........
Hello, I'm looking for the lyrics of ""Love gets in the way". Who can help me? Kind regards, Hanneke
Dear Miss Dayna Kurtz, I really enjoyed your show in Paradiso in Amsterdam. I am glad I could listen again to the show at fabchannel.com. It was very funny you had to play "when love gets in the way" a second time for the dvd. But the song is so beautiful, I had to cry both times! When are you playing again in Amsterdam? With kind regards, Arend Jan Dooijes
since tracy chapman no one suprise my more than you !.!!!!!!!!!!!.!!!
Your Paradiso-show the 10th of october was definately as good as the one on the 5th of june, maybe even better. I was totally amazed...again!! I really like that song "Right for me"! On what album will that be? Still don't own a copy of "Otherwise luscious life", why can't we buy it anywhere in Holland? I'm dying to have it! Oh, and your "dankjewel" sounded very funny! Like you're a Surinam-Dutch(wo)man (is that a word?!?). Well, I can enjoy your music now in three ways: by playing "postcards", by watching the DVD and by watching your last paradiso-performance on the net (fabchannel ROCKS!!). Still: please finish your new album as soon as possible!! Thanks, Rutger

dayna's voice and lyrics are powerful...always a treat to see her perform. I would like to see her more often though in NJ or NY. I'm looking foward to record release at Joes pub.
I am reduced to groveling now - Please come back to the UK in 2004 - So sorry your last tour did not bring you through London. But I shall wait patiently and keep the lights on. best - koko
thanks for come to Spain, thanks for come back two months later, thanks for that beautiful album, thanks for your AMAZING voice. love gets in the way is the most beautiful song of the year, I cry every time I listen it, and live it's wonderful...THANK U THANK U THANK U!!!!!! come back to Madrid, I'll be waiting for you! laura
In April of this year (2003) My wife and I saw your concert in a small theatre in Holland. called Beauforthuis ... maybe you remember this as you said it 'looks like a small old church'. Wonderful concert and we were lucky to be on the first row as we posted ourselves near the door. Holland has a tradition of accepting very quickly new artist and you will have noticed that you have moved smoothly into our country. Hope you come back soon, but I also hope you manage to keep your integrity in the music; there is too much 'easy-listening' garbage passed through the amplifiers. I have just discovered and bought your DVD, although I haven't seen you in Paradiso (too many people to my taste). Suppose the first 200 get your autograph... silly custom as this may seem. Best wishes for the future. Ron.
My bosses bought me your cd because one of them heard you on the radio recently and he only remembered the title of your album Postcards from downtown. Shortly after that I read an article about your album so I could tell him your name. He bought your album right away and thought it was so beautiful that he and his associate bought it for me as a present from Sinterklaas, the 5th of December, a Dutch custom. I didn't know you yet but I'm deeply moved by your voice and music. And I also see in this guestbook that you have loads of Dutch fans. Well, I guess you got yourself one more. Pity I didn't hear you until now, and that I missed your Dutch gigs until now. But I know you'll come back to Holland so I'll get a chance to come and see you. Thank you for your great music. Carlala
I caught you at the Tin Angel last year opening for Richie - I was with my girlfriend Lauren (Mimi Gitterman Menendez's daughter) Hopefully all is well, and even though I've got things goin opn with my band, secret sound...I'm venturing slowly into singer/singwriter land myself - I really dug meeting you and Richie...and I really really dug "Just Like Jack" - great song - much love Kevin Hildebrandt P.S. - http://www.secretsound.net - check it out, it's my baby...after lauren of course peace
Hi, just bought your Album "Postcards from Downtown"- it´s impressing! Keep on like this! Molde (Germany)
I'll send you a e-mail from downtown Groningen (Netherlands) and wish you all the best for the next new year. Since the time i've bought Postcards my musically life is completely changed. The whole summer i've listed every night to Postcards. I have seen you in Assen (root festival)and enjoyed it. There i bought the new DVD.Now i'm looking forward to you'r new (country ?) cd. I hope you visit next year The Netherlands! All the best1 Siebren Kuipers Groningen Netherlands
Just received the DVD xmas eve and it is great, I can't say enough about seeing Dayna live-and I've done so 6 times since around 1993 in western Massachusetts-I became a fan straight away. Few artists have the fire and passion of a Dayna Kurtz live...please go out of your way to catch her and spread the word about this talented performer. In a world of candy-ass pop crap on the radio-here is an real artist who has some essence, yet the world is upside-down. We must never stop trying turn it right side-up...then perhaps folks could here some "stick to your ribs" music-and stop eating candy. Good luck Dayna, you deserve it. Peace, Tom

What I would really like to know is how the song was recorded 9technicaly ,I mean) - mic's,instruments etc. thanks, Till

Hi Dayna from Talkeetna - enjoyed your performance at Tom & Hobb's last night. Been watching your DVD live in Amsterdam with great enjoyment as well. You have a tremendous voice . . . and a guitar to go with it . . . Monroe was the song that got me. Anyway, you don't know me and I'm not in your league, but . . . I'd like to hear you through a better microphone. Looked like a 58 here and in Amsterdam. AKG 1000, that's what you need . . . of course with your strong voice you'd have to get in a zone about 6 inches away from the mic and you like to hide behind it, but you don't really need to . . . anyway a suggestion from the void. Murray Nash
Hello from Whole Wheat Radio! I heard the interview and your songs and loved them! If your'e ever playing near virginia tech, ill be sure to come see you!
Please come and play IOTA again in Arlington (VA) - I need my Dayna fix!! I promise to bring the same crazy crowd I did last time... Always a great big fan, Tina
It's been a long time since I heard such a beautiful voice. The lyrics of the songs are identifiable. I wonder if Dayna will give a performance shortly in the Netherlands. If so, let me know because I really want to hear Dayna live! with kind regards Pam Heemskerk
Hi Dayna. stephanie winters here. Walter and I played a very cool in-the-round house concert on tuesday at a loft in soho. The man who runs it is named Mike. It does not pay, but there were around 50 attentive people to play for. We shared the night with David Massengil and Jack Hardy. You may hear from him. Hope all is well you way... Stephanie
from stephanie.... Ps Forgot one small detail in my last e-mail... he asked me to recommend some female songwriters and you came to mind. So I sent him to your website. Stephanie
Hey! I saw you at Southpaw tonight (one of those "monday shows"), and you were fantastic. Congrats on the DVD release! I first heard you on WFUV about 2 years ago and won tickets for the show of yours that night at Mercury Lounge. Been following you ever since. Can't wait for the new record and for the next time you play here in the city (won't be long, I'm sure). --Scott
Hello', My name is Suzy Dexter. I like this site because it's very clear. I love your music and your voice and your songs. I read the recensie last year in the NRC a dutch newspaper which was very impressive!! and then I heard on the radio there was a concert in Austerlitz...So I was on my way to Austerlitz the next day!!And I didn't regret it you are very inspiring...I've been to Tilburg "013" Where you had a jetlack and still I thought you were amazing I was ashamed that you ...had to sing between a bunch of untalented tilburgse cowboys...that was really awful...When I went home I had a bad headache...I think it was the bad wine too!! In tilburg you sang a song which you found on internet and you didn't know who had written it, but it was a song about a woman who said that she wasn't for loving...dreaming...etc......I would really like to know where I can find that song because I loved it. When you want to...you can take a look at my website...www.suzydexter.com I'm not as good as you are, but I like to do it and I just started I was a dedicated mother and housewife the last 10 years (ha ha)now my children are 10 and 12 so I can find some time to sing and I'm very jealous when I read your line that you were living without suitcases I wish... I lived with suitcases.... wait till I'm 40!!May be I should write about living with children..I guess no one wants to read that!! Hope to her from you. greetings Suzy Dexter
Thank you for your incredible voice. One kiss from spain.

dayna - great to see you are out and about! hope to catch you sometime soon. i've just finished a record i've been working on for 3000 moons thank gahd!
GOOD AND FANTASTIC, WEBSITE, WAOOOOOOGREAT.
is it possible that people stateside really don't know what they've got in dayna kurtz? i will proclaim it: a voice like a sexy, slow-burning fuel being poured on a perfect dark-orange fire just after dusk; lyrics like poems written by maya angelou, sharon olds, emily dickinson. i'm glad the people of spain and the netherlands know he richness of dayna, and i hope someday we will, too, on this side of the atlantic. bravo, dayna!
Just found somewhere "Love gets in the way"...... Fantastic.... Full of feelings.... made my heart talk for once.... thanks

Dayna, Last year I was listening to WFUV.org and Darin Devivo played "Love Got In the Way". I bought Postcards and am in awe of your precious talent. Please add Dallas to your tour. Each time I hear that song you make a mess of me. Thank you Jen
Oh, please please please let me know where on earth I can find a copy of Dayna's song "Holy Holy"?! My husband and I saw her at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA about 9 years ago. We were only dating then and the song has special meaning for us. We bought a cassette she was selling at a local record store. We loaned it to someone and it was never returned. Dayna is a bluesy rock goddess and we must find this early song!!!Many Thanks!! Brenlyn Brumbalough
Hi Dayna - Neil Alexander here, I opened for you at thhe Falcos'. Just wanted to tell you HOW MUCH I LOVE you CD. Holy Crap! It's amazing. I can't get enough. Will keep an eye on your schedule, and try to see you the next time you swing through the area.... It was a joy to be on the same bill wtih you. I mentioned you to my friends Todd and Joe (from "The Machine", a Pink Floyd tribute band and my steady gig for the last 8 years) and they said they knew you, and loved your music as well. Anyway, thank you for the music. Safe travels....
Hoi, mit sascha. Ich bin eine berliner. Ich liebe dich und deine musika. Du bist so tolllllllllll Kussies sascha
I am an old fan of Dayna's, from 1993. I was given the cassette, Footprints by an old boyfriend and rediscovered it recently in a box I had put away somewhere to try to forget about Brian. It still touches me so much. "I Still Think Of You" (I think that's the name of the song) touches me down to my soul like no other song ever has. I can't believe I recently missed her concert in Austin. I won't miss her again.
First heard Dayna Kurtz in 2002 at the Songwriter's festival (Florabama, Gulfshores, Alabama). Been a fan ever since. Love her voice. I so appreciate her music.--Thorne Sullivan--See you in New Orleans on April 29.
dayna, i've just booked a ticked for your gig at the oosterpoort upcoming 21/5, after reading all the great news/messages in your guest book and realising now i have to find out if she sweeps me off my feet not knowing anything or heard some of your song at all but that is for me the most suprising thing, to just see what the evening can bring by music and atmosphere anyway, i'm looking forward bey for now gerard
Last saterday I heard the beautiful sound of Dayna Kurtz (for the first time) in a small CD Shop in the city of Kampen (The Netherlands) I'm still impressed about the originality and the relaxed way of living you can feel in almost every song. At the end of a long day everybody all over the world should listen to this music, drink whiskey and be happy. (you see I'm still dreaming) Especially "Amsterdam Crown" (About liberty in our capital) made me feel proud to be dutch. (sorry for that) Lots of thanks to all the people who created this tiny jewel.... Holland loves you Dayna....
Hi there, I was surprised to see that the new CD 'Beautiful Yesterday' isn't on this site. It took me quit a while before finding some information about this CD. I am specially interested in the duet with Norah Jones 'I Got It Bad'. Pieter webmaster http://www.cshvof.com/norah
I LOVE THE PAGE SO CARRY GO MY DEAR.
i've been here before..just got your second album and the dvd....once again i am lost for words...great album, impressive show. allthough i missed the concert in paradiso (i was out of the country aaargh) the dvd gives a very good impression of what it must have been. hope you come to holland again very soon. follow your heart, keep on making such beautiful music and be happy, ronald geurts, holland ps who play the horns on "beautiful yesterday""
dana, are you interested in being a guest on the STrings Attached concert series. i believe we talked about it one time. Let me know, Will Taylor http://stringsattached.org
great new album, hope to see you in Deventer again!
21-may-2004 Concert Oosterpoort Groningen, Holland What a voice and performance!. I hope she'll come back to the Netherlands in the near future. I really enjoyed the show yesterday. With great songs from her new album Beautiful Yesterday......it certainly was. Ewout
Enjoyed very very much your concert yesterday in Groningen (Netherlands). You're a fabulous singer (and a beautiful woman). I also was excited by Ethel. Amazing, uncomparable music, what they played, thrilling. I also go to see classical string quartets, and I can tell you Ethel is really a good quartet! Some people in the audience though seemed to get a bit nervous from this strange music (Ethel solo). Nevertheless, try to press on with it. Too bad I couldn't really well understand you, when you mouthed a few words about what it is like to live in New York, or in the States, nowadays. I understood you were not enthousiastic about it, but the details got lost in your mumbling (sorry). Hope to see you again!! Albert.
hi!! I was at your concert in GRoningen last fryday.. and i went looking on the internet for some tabs of your songs.. BUT CAN'T FIND THEM!! so here's a suggestion; put some tabs on your site.. LOVE YOUR SONGSSSSSS!!!
Saw Dayna yesterday May 23 in Paradiso, Amsterdam and she was fantastic. I love her incredible voice and the non-traditional music. Of course I bought all her CD's and had her sign them, thanks, Dayna. Hope to see you very soon again and you can be sure, I will be there. Also Ethel was great. Thanks all of you, for a wonderful evening Dia
Went last friday to the concert in Groningen. Thank you Dayna Kurtz, for an amazing evening. Live as good as on cd, maybe better.
Mai, 24Th 2004 What a wonderful concert you gave with Ethel in Paradiso last Saturday night. I really love your music and sincere performance! Keep on visiting Holland so we can see and hear you live. greetings Stefan Kuijken Utrecht
Hi Dayna, I heard/saw you play close to two years ago at Southpaw in Brooklyn and was impressed enough to by your CD from you. I have enjoyed it often since then but never seemed to hear of any appearances by you in the NYC area. I was happy to find you were opening for Richard Thompson on June 18th at Irving Plaza. Having you on the bill was the clincher for buying a ticket. And you can tell Richard I said so.(light chuckling) Looking forward to the performance.
bought beautiful yesterday yesterday. listened to it some ten times. love every minute of it. hated those were the days, long time ago. love it now.
I was told Dayna is the singer of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" in a new commercial for Sheraton hotels. Is this true? If so was the song recorded just for the commercial or is it on an album of hers. Just the little 30 second snippit on the commercial is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard!!! I would really like to be able to get my hand s on a longer version to play for my 15 month old son!
MUGUGU KEEP OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Hello, i saw Dayna for the very first time on saturday 22th of May in Amsterdam Paradiso. I didn't now much of her music. But the concert was fabulous!!!! I never had a dull moment at her concert. What a voice!!! i bougth 2 albums of her and the DVD. Well, Dayna you got a brand new fan in Holland now.
Dayna's version of "Twinkle, Twinkle" on the Sheraton spots is the best sung commercial out there! And, that's coming from someone who does ads for a living!
Hey Now!! Love the new dvd Dayna..........had me goin through the old photos of when you were playin at the florabama.......still do the "smelly cat" song? Peace love and happiness......DODGER
hey all, i´m in spain, i´m sleepy and i need to get up early to fly to london. so this won´t be too too long a posting. jeez it´s been a long time, though. sorry about that, it´s been a crazy ass busy couple of years, won´t bore you with the details. i sort of meant for this site to be a little more interactive, on my part. i apologize i can´t respond individually. but i do read them all, even UZOAGBA. whoever the hell you are. but more recently, because so many people have emailed my agent and manager and all, yes it IS me shilling for sheraton. the band and i were given carte blanche to do what we would to the song, and we had a great time recording it, which is pretty lucky in the jingle world. so i´m told. the bad news is, i don´t own that version of the song. i have people asking permission of the sheraton folks if i can make an mp3 of the song available at my website for download. i´ll keep you posted. we´ll find a way to get it out there. speaking of the website, we´re working on the new look to go with the new cd...and thank you for all your great postings. i´m moved that you take the time to write. and my mom loves reading them, too! take care, dayna k
xx
Dayna, your voice and songwriting are a great inspiration to me. Thank you! Saw your performance at Paradiso, Amsterdam (my brother took me and reviewed your show at kindamuzik.nl=> he was raving as well) and ever since then my love for your music has just been growing... Can't wait to hear a recording with that wonderful string-quartet!
Dayna Kurtz?! Wow! I saw you play at Miller's in Charlottesville, Virginia over ten years ago. I bought your tape, still have it, listen to it often on quiet nights, love it and have worn it thin. Never knew anything else about your music. Was just searching Pollstar for music in San Francisco and came across the Makeout Room show. Wasn't even sure it was the same person until I listened to new stuff from one of the links. Sure enough. How cool. The power of your singing and music has endured. Will surely be at the show and psyched to hear and buy new stuff since then! thanks, Catherine
PLEEEEEEEASE!!!!!!!!!! WHERE CAN WE GET THE RECORDING FEATURED ON THE SHERATON COMMERCIAL? THANKS, NEW FANS
I had the pleasure of seeing/hearing Dayna last night (6/28/04 at First Ave/Minneapolis w/Richard Thompson.) I heard the first words out of her mouth and had to move as close to the front as possible. I can't remember the last time I was so moved by an artist I was hearing for the first time....I think it was probably Ron Sexsmith opening for Elvis Costello several years ago. I've just purchased everything available by Dayna Kurtz. I might have fallen in love. Brian Drake/Minneapolis
Dayna- I saw your performance at the Cafe Carpe in Fort Atkinson last Sunday. I will tell you that I was blown away by your voice and skill. It has been a long time since I have been blown away by a solo performer. I hope to hear you again soon in concert and in the meantime perhaps you will look into my suggestion of trying Tracy Nelson's song from the 70's that goes something like, 'Been down so long. Can't find a man to take your place". Success to you. Welody Wilson- Mukwonago, WI
I just love your rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for the Sheraton Hotel chain. I couldn't figure out if you've recorded it on any of your albums. I checked Amazon.com, but they didn't seem to know who you are. I'm still finding out.
What a Fox. Great site you have.
This site is great
ok - i'm really hoping this is not a trend among spammers - but please don't use my website to advertise your wares without my consent. thank you. Dayna Kurtz
i love
greetings from barcelona. I watched dayna on tv two weeks ago, on a live show. inmmediately, wrote her name on a piece of paper.I think i'm gonna keep that piece of paper for a long, long time, to remind me that, sometimes I'm not that stupid. at last, somebody left a light on. p.s. ¿when is she coming to barcelona on tour? here, we know what's good, and we do know she is.
Cool site <DIV style="width=400;height:3px;overflow:hidden;">Nice work</DIV>
http://www.superonlinecasino.com This site is great!!!!!
Dayna, I'm switching computers, so don't have your email handy. I thought about just writing to this address, then saw your guest book and thought you'd see it sooner. I wanted to write to let you know I heard parts of your record yesterday on NPR. I had to pull over, as I was floored by what I heard. I didn't recognize your voice at first - and then, I knew it was you. It was haunting, mysterious, lovely. Perfect music. It's a masterpiece, really - I'm very excited for all that is coming your way right now. You are a beauty, and I think the world is about to find out what we all knew all along. Congrats to you. Much love, and I am about to pre-order so I get my copy as soon as it's out. Love, Rebecca
